Since 2015, the Prutul Factory has been processing High Oleic sunflower seeds and produces and sells refined High Oleic sunflower oil bulk and bottled to partners in Romania and internationally.

Why High Oleic Oil?

High Oleic oil is obtained from a special variety of sunflower seeds, which internationally is called “High Oleic”, with a content of at least 75% oleic acid. This is a monounsaturated Omega 9 fatty acid. Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is an unsaturated fat.

Other Benefits:

  • Minimum 75% Omega 9 (monounsaturated fats, considered beneficial in healthy diet), a content 3 times higher than in a classic sunflower oil;
  • High burning/smoking point;
  • High resistance to oxidation and rancidity;
  • Minimum shelf life 50% longer than classic sunflower oil (18 months).
